Hospital Tour

We went on our hospital tour this evening and felt great about it. The hospital is very nice. After the tour Raul decided that we aren't going to stop after Matthew. He can wear his wrist band over to Waterloo Icehouse (across the street) and get a free beer. Bonus...he gets to bring back a milkshake for Mama. He's joking...we are done after Matthew, but free beer is always a bonus.

So, back to the tour. The hospital is very breastfeeding friendly, which is a plus for me because I hated that the nurses at the hospital Joshua was born at pushed the formula on him. We get to leave our post-partum bag in the car when we check-in because we won't need it  for a bit. We will go up to Labor and Delivery (L&D) and be whisked right into the Operating Room (OR). The whole process from being checked in to being set up in Post-Partum room is about five hours. The OR is right there on the same floor in the maternity ward so while they stitch me back up, Raul gets to go with Matthew to get all the measurements, weights, and cleaning up done. Then when I am in recovery (which is ten feet from the nursery) they will bring Matthew in to me so I can hold him and see if he is hungry at all. I love that.

The hospital is set up with WiFi so I'll be able to upload stories, pictures, and video right away while Matthew is sleeping or when Daddy wants to hold him. I even purchased the wide lens attachment and a Tri-Pod for our Flip Video. I can't wait to meet our newest little man and watch Joshua interact with his baby brother.
